Common Questions
Is Basic membership really free?
Yes. Basic membership costs $0 forever — no credit card required. You get a digital membership card (Apple Wallet & Google Pay) and the monthly MSLA newsletter.
What does Pro membership add?
Pro members get voting rights at the AGM, member discounts on event tickets, rewards points on every ticket purchase, free cloakroom at select events (up to 3 items), early access to ticket sales, and priority seating at applicable events. Pro is $10/month or $99/year.
How do rewards points work?
Pro members earn 5 points per $1 spent on event tickets and 10 points per $1 on Pro membership renewals (plus a 50-point welcome bonus on your first renewal). Redeem 200 points for $1 off a future ticket — minimum 1,000 points ($5 voucher), up to 25% off any single order. If you cancel Pro your points are frozen, not forfeited — they wait in your account until you reactivate.
Can I upgrade from Basic to Pro later?
Yes — upgrade any time from your billing page. Your member-since date and member number stay the same.
Do I need to be Sri Lankan to join?
MSLA is primarily a Sri Lankan community organisation, but we welcome allied friends and partners of community members. Reach out via the contact page if you have questions.
How do I get my digital membership card?
Once you register and complete your profile, you can access your digital membership card from the Member Portal under Rewards & Membership.
How do I cancel?
You can downgrade Pro to Basic any time from billing (you keep Basic forever), or deactivate your account entirely from account settings. No fees, no commitment.
